Trial Session

If you think English1on1 sounds interesting and would like a trial session of our program to test it out, you can.  This trial session will let you speak with an English1on1 tutor, just like you would in a real 30-minute session.  During the trial session, the professionally trained English1on1 tutor will evaluate your English ability and tell you what proficiency level you would be placed in as well as recommend to you what types of sessions you should register for.  The trial session is also the time to talk to a tutor and ask them any questions you have about the English1on1 program.   

Overall Trial session procedure:

• The tutor calls the student for the trial session at the scheduled time.
• The tutor and student first introduce themselves, and then discuss the goals of the student and the material and questions for the session type. 
• General Topics Speaking: the tutor will ask the student a series of conversational questions to evaluate the student’s English proficiency and goals, and then assign the student a level from the English1on1 program.
• TOEFL® iBT Speaking: the tutor will ask the student a series of questions from sample TOEFL® iBT exams, and then give an evaluation and tips to improve their responses.
• IELTS Speaking: the tutor will ask the student a series of questions from sample IELTS exams, and then give an evaluation and tips to improve their responses.
• The tutor will then recommend which type of sessions the student should take and how many based on the student’s ability during the session as well as answer any other questions that the student has about the English1on1 program in the remaining minutes of the session.
